Job Summary

The Lead Financial Analyst is an individual contributor with heavy responsibility for authoring and maintaining complex financial models. These models may be “clean sheets” or leverage and improve upon preceding work from internal and external sources including consultants. The ideal candidate will be well suited to take a business concept from ideation through to polished presentation—understanding business drivers, operational KPI metrics, and implementing in a stable and flexible model with numerous variables. This individual will produce outputs relevant to senior leadership including presentations with bridges, scenario analysis charts, trends, etc., to drive optimal management decision making. Job Description

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ad hoc projects such as financial modeling, a variety of analyses including breakeven, scenarios, optimization, ROI and IRR models.
  • Timely preparation and presentation of monthly and quarterly reporting related to project areas.
  • Develop and implement best practices around spreadsheet modeling, analysis, budgeting, and business insights to support operations leadership.
  • Provide training and guidance to other members of the finance team and adjacent business operational support as needed.
  • Manage source data, analyzing and validating information, and communicating trends and drivers to operations leadership and executive leadership.
  • Understand and analyze financial results and clearly articulate themes, performance drivers, root cause of variances, and recommendations to enhance business performance when applicable.
  • Collaborate across functional departments to drive continuous improvements in reporting, budgeting, and analysis processes.
  • May act in a team lead capacity and supervise direct reports.


Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Business Administration, or similar – i.e. MBA, MS
  • 7+ years in FP&A or consulting.
  • Database experience a plus but not required.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work effectively with management and cross functionally to consistently meet targets.
  • Strong attention to detail with sanity check controls.
  • Exceptional math skills and financial/P&L knowledge with ability to synthesize complex information and translate into concise reports.
  • Superior Excel skills; able to use tools and shortcuts to work efficiently and effectively including modeling and spreadsheet audit/improvement.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills – able to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other departments.
  • Independent and hard-working, with a positive focus and complete integrity.
