Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineer

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement detailed Commissioning strategies and schedules for Mechanical/Process systems.

Oversee the calibration, functional testing, and performance verification of all Mechanical/Process systems.

Focal point for the delivery of all Project Mechanical Commissioning activities

Provide hands on, on-site project delivery support during the Construction and Mechanical Completions phases of the Project.

Focal point for the delivery of all Project Mechanical Commissioning activities

Prepare and deliver detailed progress reports, test records, and punch lists.

Provide Mechanical Commissioning input into the Project design, to ensure efficient Pre-Commissioning, dynamic commissioning and equipment performance testing.

Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex Mechanical/Process issues during commissioning phases.

Coordinate with the Engineering, Construction and Operations / Maintenance teams to ensure smooth handover of systems.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Job-Related Competencies

Educational Qualifications:

Higher National Diploma (HND) or Hons Degree (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience Profile:

10+ years varied Mechanical design, installation, hook-up and Commissioning experience.

Working knowledge and experience in Oil and Gas industry codes, specifications, international standards and specifications including various equipment certifications.

Experience in developing Commissioning documentation, such as Method statements, Commissioning test procedures and Commissioning dossiers.

Experience in Project Turnover with actual hands-on Commissioning work.

Leading multidiscipline teams in the safe execution and turnover of systems to Operations.

Hands on Mechanical Completion, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning experience.

Proven track record Commissioning utility and process systems, mechanical,

heating, ventilation & air conditioning systems, rotating equipment compressors, gas turbine generators, pumps & motors.

Experience with Electronic based Permit to Work (PTW) systems.

Onshore and Offshore Oil and Gas project experience.

Competencies/Skills/Others:

Working knowledge of various Mechanical/Process equipment (i.e. compressor, pumps, utilities packages, valves, leak testing etc.)

Knowledge of safety procedures for commissioning such as Permit to Work, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and familiarity with Process Safety Management, Completions Management Knowledge of flange management procedures, CompEx ExF (Explosion Proof Equipment Foundation / Mechanical (Ex11) training.

Hands on condition monitoring experience.

Effective verbal and written English language communication skills and effective report writing skills.

Comfortable to communicate, with the ability to influence, with personnel of all levels whilst working in a remote and multi-cultured environment.
