Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher - Jewish Preschool

***August 2026 start aligned with the school year, including structured onboarding and training prior to students arriving.***

We are seeking both Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers to join our early childhood team. In these roles, you will work collaboratively to create a warm, engaging classroom environment while supporting children’s development across all domains. Responsibilities:

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for young children.
  • Uphold and actively support Jewish culture, traditions, and community values as an integral part of the daily school environment.
  • Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Implement developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum.
  • Lead Teachers: Design curriculum and lead family communication.
  • Assistant Teachers: Support classroom activities and daily routines.
  • Maintain appropriate child-to-teacher ratios and ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with teaching team members to support a positive classroom and school culture.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to respecting and supporting Jewish culture, traditions, and community values in a professional setting.
  • Lead Teachers: Minimum of 6 early childhood education credits required. Pay range $19 to $29.50
  • Assistant Teachers: High school diploma required. Pay Range $17 to $26.50.
  • All candidates must be at least 19 years old.
  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred for Lead Teachers.
  • Previous experience working with young children preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development and classroom management.
  • Warm, engaging, and relationship-driven approach.
  • Must meet Illinois DCFS licensing requirements.

Schedule:

Monday -Thursday 8:30 am - 3:45 pm Fridays 8:30 am - 1:15pm
