Our Philosophy

Kids Land Community School is a play-based enrichment cooperative learning center located in the Bronx. Kids Land Community School's mission is to provide a meaningful and joyous learning experience through play and enrichment for children ages 0 months to 5 years old.

Our curriculum is centered and inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and is child centered and community driven. The focus is that all children and teachers get to PLAY and LEARN!!!

Kids Land Community School uses a play based and enrichment emergent curriculum which allows for both the teachers and the children to take a journey on a deep study that comes from what the children discover in the classroom or what ideas they may bring from home. As educators we support the children in developing critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, promote independent thinkers, while supporting the children’s social emotional development. In addition, empowering children to be aware of social injustices, and they will learn to use the most powerful tool that they have, their voices. Our teachers see their students.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Infant/Toddler Teacher

1. Currently on a study plan for ECE (or related field of study) with 90 or more undergraduate college credits and one year experience in Classroom experience teaching Early Childhood Education.

OR

2. Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education with 2 years teaching experience OR

3. CDA and enrolled in an early chilldhood program or an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education.

4. Five years of experiance working with children in an early childhood setting and in a continuing education program.
