The Leave and Benefit Administrator supports Live! by managing all employee leave programs with accuracy, empathy, and compliance. This role ensures that team members receive timely guidance throughout their leave journey, while safeguarding the company’s legal, financial, and operational interests. The position also plays a key role in coordinating benefits and partnering closely with the corporate benefits team to ensure seamless support for team members.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
Leave Administration

Administer company leave programs including FMLA, ADA, personal and state/local leave laws.

Review and process leave requests, medical certifications, and required documentation with strict confidentiality.

Track leave timelines, eligibility, and communications using HRIS (UKG) and leave‑management systems.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
-
Serve as the liaison between team members, property/department leaders, Risk Management, and third‑party administrators for leave and workers’ compensation claims.
-
Monitor claim status, medical restrictions, and return‑to‑work readiness.
-
Coordinate modified duty assignments and ensure alignment with medical recommendations and applicable laws.

Maintain accurate documentation and support timely reporting of workplace injuries.
Team Member Arrears Management
-
Monitor and manage arrears balances for team members on leave, including benefit premiums and other payroll‑related deductions.
-
Communicate proactively with team members regarding outstanding balances, repayment options, and deadlines.
-
Partner with Payroll and Benefits teams to reconcile arrears, ensure accurate deductions, and maintain compliance with company policy.
Benefits Coordination & Corporate Benefits Liaison

Coordinate benefit continuation during leaves of absence, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and voluntary benefits.

Coordinate with benefits to ensure the transition to COBRA for team members who exceed 12-weeks of leave.

Ensure accurate leave/employment status updates in HRIS (UKG) and collaborate with Payroll to manage premium deductions or arrears.

Serve as the primary liaison with the corporate benefits team to resolve escalated benefit issues, clarify policy interpretations, and ensure consistent application of benefit programs across all properties.

Support team members in understanding benefit impacts during leave, including eligibility, coverage changes, and return‑to‑work transitions.
Employee & Manager Support

Provide clear, compassionate guidance to employees navigating medical, family, and personal leave situations.

Educate managers on leave procedures, staffing impacts, and compliance expectations.
-
Coordinate return‑to‑work plans, including accommodation or transitional duty when applicable.
Compliance & Documentation
-
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date leave, benefits, and workers’ compensation records.
-
Monitor changes in leave and labor laws; recommend policy updates as needed.
-
Partner with Legal, HR, Benefits, and Risk Management on complex or escalated cases.

Ensure that all ADA accommodations are provided in accordance with legal requirements.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Payroll to ensure accurate pay, benefits continuation, arrears reconciliation, and deductions during leave periods.

Collaborate with Benefits teams on STD, LTD, and other benefit‑related matters.

Support HR operations during peak hospitality seasons by forecasting leave‑related staffing needs.
Skills for Success:

Advanced knowledge of government benefits, leave and disability laws, regulations, and compliance.

Strong understanding of organizational contracts and vendor benefit processes.

Expertise in HR employee relations practices and strategic HR support.

Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and database management; UKG preferred.

Strong analytical, investigative, and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to interpret business journals, regulations, and organizational policies.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.

Ability to design and interpret charts/graphs to communicate HR and benefits issues.

Ability to effectively and compassionately work with team members on leave and ADA issues while adhering to company policy and/or applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:
Must‑Haves:

Two-plus years of experience in leave administration, benefits, workers’ compensation, and HR operations; hospitality experience strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, workers’ compensation processes, and multi‑state leave and disability laws.

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

PHR or SHRM-CP Certification(s) strongly preferred or equivalent credentials/certifications must be completed within 180 days of assignment/employment

Excellent communication, customer service, and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.

Ability to obtain and maintain all required gaming licenses.

Proficiency with an HRIS system, case‑management tools, and Microsoft Office required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
