Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and proactive in-house Legal Assistant who will support the Keystone Legal team through conducting legal research, filing and maintaining contracts and other documents, preparing and processing certain legal filings and paperwork, and performing various clerical duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create initial drafts of legal documents, including demand letters, routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories. Assist in the preparation of documents for court filings and maintain and track all cases.
  • Draft certain form contracts and maintain the contract database, uploading and tracking corporate contracts.
  • Research and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources and provide written analyses to in-house attorneys.
  • Assist with the management of collection matters, working closely with in-house attorneys and the Credit team.
  • Assist with real estate transactions and other projects, including researching properties, managing survey and title work, and gathering transaction and closing documents.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, providing direct support on specific projects.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

Education and Experience:

  • An associate’s degree in business administration, paralegal/legal studies, finance, real estate, or a related field preferred
  • Experience in administrative support, compliance, legal review, contract management, or real estate documentation preferred
  • Paralegal certificate preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
