Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Small litigation firm looking for part time help. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to contribute to a fast-paced environment and gain hands-on experience in litigation. You will work directly with clients, manage case files, and assist in preparing for court appearances and trials.

Responsibilities:

• Draft and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Assist with case preparation, including organizing evidence and exhibits.
• Manage and maintain case files, including electronic filing and document management.
• Schedule client meetings, depositions, and court hearings.
• Conduct legal research as needed.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Prepare and file court documents and ensure deadlines are met.
• Manage attorney calendars and reminders for important deadlines.
• Handle general office duties such as answering phones, filing, and faxing.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience in a litigation setting (preferred).
• Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and filing systems.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, CLIO) and legal research tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.

Pay will be commensurate with the experience, skills, and qualifications that the candidate brings to the position.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
