Summary
The Legal Counsel role will be responsible for providing in-house legal guidance on workplace-related issues, ensuring compliance with labor laws while protecting the rights of employer and employees. The Legal Counsel will assist in the resolution of disputes and manage litigation/arbitration, while reviewing and interpreting legal requirements and effectively communicating these to the business/external stakeholders. This position reports to the Sr. LegalCounsel.
Responsibilities

Interpret and apply local, state (Georgia), and federal employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, and FLSA.

Draft, review, and update employee handbooks, offer letters, non-compete agreements, and separation packages to ensure they are legally sound and enforceable under Georgia law.

Provide real-time counsel to HR and executive leadership on sensitive matters such as terminations, disciplinary actions, and internal investigations.

Manage and oversee outside counsel for employment-related litigation. Represent the company in administrative hearings before the EEOC or the Georgia Department of Labor.

Conduct regular training sessions for management on wage-and-hour compliance, harassment prevention, and evolving labor standards.

Design, build, and improve legal team processes.

Consult and protect Qcells against legal risks, penalties, and investigations.
Required Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), or an equivalent degree from an accredited law school.

A member in good standing with a state bar association.

Experience as in-house counsel or at a law firm (or a combination of both).

Professional legal experience handling legal disputes such as litigation and arbitration.
Preferred Qualifications

7+ years of experience as in-house counsel or at a law firm (or a combination of both).

Strong familiarity with Georgia-specific statutes (e.g., Georgia’s Restrictive Covenants Act) and the Bartow County/Whitfield County legal environments.

Bilingual (Korean & English).

Experience in the solar industry, energy sector, or manufacturing industry.
