About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated law student to join our team as a Legal Intern focused on real estate and title work. This position offers hands-on experience in property research, title review, and transactional real estate practice. You will collaborate directly with attorneys, closers, and title professionals on real-world files involving residential and commercial property.

Responsibilities:

Assist Abstractor’s by:

· Review and analyze title abstracts for Tennessee properties.

· Research judgments, liens, encumbrances, and chains of title.

· Proofread legal descriptions and assist with due diligence tasks.

· Travel to county offices to record deeds and document property conditions (take pictures of property after the deed has been recorded).

· Review and interpret legal documents such as contracts, deeds, surveys, and easements that may affect the title report.

· Assist with property research, including owner cards, tax maps, and tax information.

· Collaborate with real estate attorneys, title companies, and other professionals involved in closings.

Assist Closing Agent’s by:

· Reviewing contracts and helping prepare necessary documents and loan packages.

· Assisting with Closing Disclosures (CDs), as well as balancing and funding files.

· Supporting the closing process by greeting clients, seating them in closing rooms, collecting and verifying identification, and ensuring IDs are properly scanned and documented for the Closing Agent.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Familiarity with SoftPro or similar title software (a plus but not required).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
