The Lifting Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, and ensuring safe execution of all lifting operations on the construction site. This role ensures compliance with local regulations, project safety standards, and proper coordination between crane operators, riggers, and site management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all lifting activities in accordance with project requirements and safety standards.
  • Ensure all lifting operations are executed safely and efficiently following approved lifting plans and method statements.
  • Conduct site assessments to identify hazards and implement necessary control measures.
  • Verify that all lifting equipment, machines, and accessories have valid certifications and are in good working condition.
  • Ensure crane operators, riggers, and signalmen are competent and certified for their roles.
  • Prepare and review lifting plans in coordination with the Construction Manager and HSE team.
  • Monitor lifting operations to ensure compliance with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), local regulations, and company policies.
  • Report any incidents, near misses, or unsafe acts/conditions related to lifting operations.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and internal teams to schedule lifting activities without affecting other site operations.
  • Maintain proper documentation related to lifting operations, checklists, and inspection reports.
  • Provide toolbox talks and guidance to lifting teams to promote safety awareness.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline (required).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lifting Supervisor in building construction or related projects.
  • Valid Lifting Supervisor certification (e.g., OPITO/LEEA or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of safe lifting procedures, crane operations, rigging standards, and lifting accessories.
  • Familiar with QCS, international lifting standards, and local HSE regulations.
  • Good communication and leadership skills to manage lifting teams effectively.
  • Ability to prepare lifting plans and understand load charts, crane capacities, and risk assessments.
  • Physically fit and able to work in a construction site environment.
