About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Lifting Supervisor to oversee all lifting operations on our oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in planning, executing, and supervising complex lifting activities in strict compliance with industry standards and client specifications. This is a critical on-site role requiring immediate availability and local presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all lifting operations, including pre-lift meetings, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Ensure strict adherence to lifting plans, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, LOLER, local regulations).
- Direct and monitor the work of crane operators, riggers, and signal persons, ensuring proper communication and safe execution.
- Inspect lifting equipment, accessories, and rigging prior to use; maintain records of inspections and certifications.
- Conduct site-specific inductions and toolbox talks, emphasizing HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) compliance.
- Liaise with project managers, client representatives, and engineering teams to align lifting schedules with project milestones.
- Investigate and report any lifting-related incidents, near misses, or non-conformities.
- Maintain accurate lifting logs, permits, and documentation as per company and client standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in lifting supervision, preferably within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors, Construction
- Proven knowledge of lifting operations in hazardous areas (including SIPZ/EIPZ zones), confined spaces, and high-risk environments.
- Valid National Oil Company (NOC) clearance/approval or ability to obtain it swiftly.
- Local residency in [City/Region] and ability to join immediately upon selection.
- Priority will be given to candidates holding a valid RLF (Ras Laffan Industrial City) gatepass or equivalent client/contractor site access permit.
- Certified in relevant standards (e.g., CPC, NCCCO, or equivalent lifting supervisor certification).
- Thorough understanding of API, ASME, and international lifting standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Valid driving license and willingness to work in shift patterns, including overtime as required.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience with heavy crane operations (mobile, crawler, tower cranes).
- Familiarity with project management software and lifting planning tools.
- Track record of zero-harm safety culture and proactive hazard identification.
