This full-time, exempt position reports to the General Counsel and Senior Litigation Counsel and is based on-site at SRM Concrete’s corporate headquarters in Tennessee. The attorney will provide day-to-day litigation counsel across the company’s nationwide operations, ensuring that employees and outside counsel receive timely, strategic, and business-focused legal guidance that aligns with SRM Concrete’s strategic and operational objectives.
The role encompasses comprehensive litigation support, including, but not limited to, pre-litigation advice, management of discovery, motion practice, and legal briefing, as well as mediation and trial preparation. Subject matters include auto claims, products liability, premises liability, real estate disputes and corporate/business disputes. Collaboration with outside counsel is integral to the position.
Success in the role requires a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, active licensure in at least one (1) U.S. jurisdiction (with Tennessee admission or eligibility for in-house practice preferred), and a minimum of two (2) years of concentrated litigation experience, insurance defense, personal injury, automobile accident and tort litigation experience preferred. The attorney must possess superior written and verbal communication skills, the judgment to balance legal risk with business objectives, and the confidence to advise personnel at all levels. Familiarity with concrete, construction, or manufacturing environments are advantageous but not mandatory.
This is an office-based/in office position (not remote or hybrid), however, limited travel may be required on an as-needed basis to support investigations, proceedings, or training initiatives.
