Litigation Lawyer – Job Description

Position: Litigation Lawyer
Location: Lusail, Doha – Qatar
Experience Required: 7+ years (Qatar & GCC litigation experience preferred)

Role Overview

The Litigation Lawyer will handle a wide range of civil, commercial, and criminal litigation matters, including drafting legal documents, representing clients before courts, managing case strategies, and providing expert legal advice. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of Qatari laws and regulations, excellent legal drafting abilities in Arabic and English, and proven courtroom experience.

Key Responsibilities1. Litigation & Court Representation

  • Represent clients before all levels of Qatari courts (First Instance, Appeal, and Cassation).
  • Prepare and submit court memoranda, pleadings, and legal notices.
  • Attend expert meetings, court hearings, and police/prosecution investigations.
  • Manage case files, evidence, and procedural requirements.

2. Legal Drafting & Advisory

  • Draft statements of claim, defenses, legal opinions, motions, contracts, and settlement agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on civil, commercial, criminal, labor, and administrative disputes.
  • Review and analyze contracts, regulatory documents, and risk issues.

3. Case Management

  • Develop litigation strategies and manage timelines for filings and hearings.
  • Coordinate with clients, internal departments, and external authorities.
  • Oversee enforcement procedures, execution files, and appeals processes.

4. Client Relations & Reporting

  • Provide clients with regular updates, case summaries, and legal recommendations.
  • Participate in negotiations and dispute resolution efforts (mediation/settlement).

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (Master’s degree is an advantage).
  • Minimum 7 years litigation experience, ideally within Qatar or GCC.
  • Strong command of Qatari civil, commercial, criminal, and procedural laws.
  • Excellent drafting skills in Arabic (essential) and English (preferred).
  • Strong advocacy, analytical thinking, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage high-volume caseloads.
  • Valid QID or ability to transfer sponsorship (preferred).

Preferred Competencies

  • Experience handling high-value disputes.
  • Familiarity with corporate, construction, and banking litigation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a structured legal team.
  • Professional communication and client management skills.
