We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Logistics and Warehouse Manager to lead and manage global and domestic logistics operations for an architectural model-making company. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in air and land shipments, door-to-door services, and project shipments for exhibitions, with a strong understanding of handling fragile items and working under tight deadlines. This role requires strong coordination with cross-functional teams, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless, efficient, and cost-effective logistics and warehousing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and manage air and land shipments, including door-to-door logistics services.
- Handle project-based shipments for exhibitions and special events, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with all shipping protocols.
- Ensure proper packing and protection of fragile models, including custom crating, shock-proofing, and labeling.
- Manage and optimize warehouse space, inventory movement, and storage solutions.
- Generate accurate client billing for storage and shipment services.
- Maintain strong relationships with 3PL providers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics vendors.
- Lead fleet management operations including vehicle scheduling, maintenance, and documentation.
- Ensure full compliance with international shipping protocols, customs regulations, and documentation for both air and land shipments.
- Maintain detailed records, shipment logs, and performance metrics; prepare reports as required.
- Lead vendor management, including sourcing, negotiation, service level agreements, and performance evaluation.
- Resolve logistical conflicts and troubleshoot delivery or customs issues proactively.
- Coordinate with internal departments (production, design, accounts, client servicing) to align on timelines, costs, and expectations.
- Manage client communication related to logistics schedules, updates, billing, and issue resolution.
- Oversee packing teams, warehousing staff, and logistics assistants as needed.
- Negotiate freight contracts to optimize cost and service efficiency.
- Ensure all logistical processes align with company policies and safety regulations.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of air and land freight, door-to-door shipment terms, customs clearance, and international trade regulations.
- Proven experience with project shipments, including high-value, fragile cargo.
- Expertise in warehouse operations, space optimization, and storage billing.
- Familiarity with 3PL logistics, vendor sourcing, and performance management.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent client communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Capable of managing and leading a logistics team, as well as cross-functional coordination.
- High level of negotiation skills to manage freight and service costs.
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
- Strong documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office, logistics management software, and inventory systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or related field.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in logistics, advantage for candidates experienced in model making, exhibitions, or fragile goods logistics.
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CILT) is a plus.
- Strong network of logistics and transport vendors globally.
