Logistics Coordinator

Job Description:

Watershed Foods is the industry leader in freeze-dried yogurt, fruits, and veggie snacks. We are a fast-growing, innovation-focused company expanding our expertise into additional markets. To support continued growth, we are expanding our Supply Chain team to ensure raw materials and finished goods move accurately, cost-effectively, and on time between our suppliers, Gridley, IL manufacturing facility, 3PL warehouses, and co-packer partners. Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory and ERP transaction management
  • Maintain accurate records of all inventory movements in the ERP system.
  • Process product staging and transfer requests.
  • Create and issue dispatch notes, picklists, bills of lading (BOLs), and related shipping documentation.
  • Confirm materials are received and logged in the ERP at off-site facilities after delivery notifications.
  • Shipment and transportation coordination
  • Coordinate with carriers and freight brokers to schedule pickups and deliveries from the Gridley facility to 3PLs and co-packers.
  • Select carriers, negotiate rates, monitor transit performance, and manage carrier relationships.
  • Arrange special shipments as needed such as expedited, temperature-controlled, or oversized loads.
  • Inbound, outbound, and international shipments
  • Oversee inbound shipments of raw materials and packaging and outbound shipments of finished goods.
  • Where applicable: coordinate with customs brokers, ensure import/export compliance, and manage international shipping documentation.
  • Documentation, compliance, and quality
  • Review purchase orders, shipping documents, and carrier paperwork for accuracy.
  • Prepare bills and invoices and ensure regulatory and safety compliance.
  • Verify counts, condition, and packaging prior to shipment and upon receipt.
  • Tracking, issue resolution, and communication
  • Track shipments, follow up on delays, and coordinate resolution for errors or damage.
  • Maintain clear written and verbal communication with internal teams (manufacturing, warehousing, finance) and external partners (carriers, 3PLs, co-packers).
  • Respond to customer and supplier inquiries and route complex issues to appropriate channels.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years in logistics, supply chain, or materials operations, including experience with inbound and outbound domestic shipments.
  • Experience working with 3PLs and co-packers preferred.
  • International shipment coordination and customs brokerage experience is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience transacting inventory in ERP systems, including staging, transfers, picklists, and BOL processing.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort with data entry, reporting, and basic analysis.
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems and carrier rate tools is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Problem-solver with the ability to manage multiple tasks and urgent issues.
