General Description

The Manager, Logistics will direct, optimize and coordinate the entire order fulfillment cycle to ensure regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction. The Logistics Manager is responsible for the customer facing team through order entry, logistics movement and issue resolutions. This responsibility will include development and implementation of long term strategies for domestic and international logistics in close collaboration with all stakeholders and in line with the business' strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, coach, and develop a high performing team that delivers best practices in logistics and distribution services.
  • Manage domestic and international shipping needs including customs clearance and permitting.
  • Negotiate, maintain, monitor, and regularly evaluate relationships and contracts with suppliers
  • Establish targets in areas such as transit and delivery times, inventory levels, service standards
  • Manage both 3PL service providers and internal fleet operations to ensure service performance, regulatory compliance, and cost control.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports, exports and customer service.
  • Track and report all identified and implemented cost savings initiatives
  • Support forecasting, billing, budget creation, and other logistics finance activities.
  • Facilitate effective and collaborative interaction with colleagues from all departments within the organization.
  • Work closely with internal operations and sales teams to manage priorities and communicate commitments and status to customers.
  • Support customer contract negotiations
  • Subject matter expert in DOT, IMDG, Canadian TDG and IATA regulations in the transportation of hazardous materials and chemicals.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or business from an accredited university
  • 5+ years working in logistics/supply chain/transportation function with a comprehensive knowledge of logistics processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work Independently within a global and changing environment, Including completion of tasks among different complexity levels.
  • Strong leadership and teambuilding skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with Internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration with customer centric mindset.
  • Capable of managing and controlling vendors and 3PL performance with KPI’s
  • Microsoft Office abilities and solid data analytical skills.
  • Knowledge on the regulation and economics of all modes of transportation
