Logistics Manager

Role Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned and highly skilled Global Logistics & Trade Compliance Expert to lead and manage the international movement of regulated commodities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with complex import/export requirements, customs classifications, and global compliance—particularly for industries involving strict regulatory oversight, such as tobacco, alcohol, chemicals, or related materials.

This is a strategic role designed to enhance our compliance infrastructure and ensure smooth and lawful cross-border logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage international logistics and customs processes for goods subject to regulatory controls
  • Classify goods under the appropriate Harmonized System (HS) or Schedule B codes
  • Ensure adherence to local and international trade compliance regulations
  • Liaise with global freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams
  • Review shipping documentation to ensure compliance with international trade laws
  • Monitor changes in import/export regulations and provide strategic guidance
  • Assist in managing bonded warehouse, free trade zone (FTZ), or special trade programs
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for logistics and compliance

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in international logistics or trade compliance
  • Working knowledge of HS code classification, customs regulations, and incoterms
  • Experience handling regulated or sensitive goods within compliant frameworks
  • Strong understanding of country-specific import/export laws (e.g., U.S., EU, Asia-Pacific)
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Odoo) or compliance platforms (e.g., SAP GTS)
  • Must be able to work in UK/EU Timezone

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in trade compliance (e.g., CTCS, CCS, or equivalent)
  • Experience with tobacco, alcohol, chemicals, or controlled substances logistics
  • Knowledge of IATA, IMDG, or other dangerous goods transportation standards
  • Experience working with government agencies such as CBP, FDA, or REACH
