Summary Description
The Logistics Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining the best practices and procedures for receiving, shipping, and transferring all construction related materials and equipment to commercial jobsites and/or to the warehouse.
Logistics Manager Job Responsibilities
Materials Management

Determines appropriate shipping method for materials based on shipping procedures, routes, and rates

Coordinates with suppliers and project teams creating shipping and receiving schedules.

Arranges and issues instructions for shipping and delivery of materials with carrier representatives, and acts as primary contact for carriers both inside and outside of business hours

Records shipment data for reporting, accounting, and record keeping purposes including weight, charges, space availability, damages, and discrepancies

Determines whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, and standards

Estimates sizes, distances, and quantities of products and determines time, costs, resources, and materials required

Monitors and controls all materials and tools.

Maintains best practices and procedures for organization and storage of material at each commercial jobsite following manufacturer guidelines.

Manages quality control issues in-regards to shipped material with each applicable vendor.

Coordinates material and equipment transfers between all ASI jobsites
Document Management

Enters, transcribes, records, stores, and maintains information

Obtains freight quotes, Obtains Rental Equipment Quotes and must create commitments (Subcontracts, Purchase Orders, Change Orders)

Prepares documents such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials

Manage equipment planners and address invoice issues in the AP invoice issue log.

The ability to observe processes or have knowledge of best practices for processes to write Standard Operating Procedures is a plus.

Completes daily check lists for accountability.

Handles RMA documentation on all return orders

Reviews of all documentation obtains signature approval on invoices and sends to A/P
Relationship Management

Builds on and maintains working relationships with carrier representatives and vendors.

Must be able to lead and manage several other team members following company policy and labor laws or regulations.

Must be able to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks completing them in a timely manner.

Must be able to delegate tasks and hold other team members accountable.

Must be able to train and support subordinates’ growth and development.

Collaborate with Procurement Management and warehouse team when applicable

Collaborates with Project Controls team and Accounting

Follows all jobsite and warehouse safety regulations using industry standards or best practices.

Attends meetings and educational activities to stay up to date on the latest developments, trends, and regulations in the market

Qualifications
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

High School diploma or GED
-
At least 2-3 years of experience in supply chain, shipping/receiving, warehousing, distribution, and/or logistics or other relevant utility scale construction experience.

Knowledge of UPS, Fed Ex, LTL, full truck shipping procedures required
-
Minimum 2-3 years of PV or Utility Scale Electrical experience.

Preferred to have basic or advanced industrial safety certifications. (OSHA 30 or OSHA 510) For Construction Management.

Knowledge of or experience with 2 or more PV tracker manufacturer system types, 2 or more PV module manufacturer types and 2 or more wire and steel I-Beam types are preferred.

Minimum 2-3 years of heavy equipment operation and current certifications (preferred) for skid steer, off road forklift/telehandler, and other loaders.

Must have the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at a time. Strong time management skills are preferred.

Must be able to read and understand purchase orders and engineering drawing sets.

Experience with EPC contracts and understanding of scopes of work is preferred.

Intermediate to advanced understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)

Other system platforms such as Procore, SharePoint and CMiC are a plus.

Must be willing to travel extensively in or out of state and be on assignments up to 100% of the time or multiple projects at a time.

Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance)
