Logistics Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Specialist to join our team in Dubai. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of goods across JDL’s global supply chain network. You will oversee transportation arrangements, customs clearance processes, and compliance with international trade regulations to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, hands-on logistics experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage logistics operations, including transportation and distribution, to meet customer and organizational objectives.
• Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth flow of goods across JDL’s global network.
• Arrange and optimize transportation via air, ocean, and land, selecting reliable and cost-effective carriers.
• Manage customs clearance processes, ensuring compliance with import/export regulations and accurate documentation.
• Track shipments and provide real-time updates to stakeholders using logistics software and tracking systems.
• Analyze logistics data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements in routes, processes, and schedules.
• Monitor budgets and recommend cost-saving strategies while maintaining service quality.
• Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to resolve inquiries, delays, or shipment issues.
• Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, developing contingency plans as needed.
• Work closely with warehouse, facility, and customs teams to ensure smooth execution of logistics plans.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or customs clearance roles.
• Experience in Express industry, freight forwarding (air/ocean), B2B/B2C logistics, or customs brokerage is an advantage.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in logistics software, trade management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs processes, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for coordinating with carriers, customs officials, and clients.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
