Job Summary

The Machinist will be responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining various machining equipment to produce precision metal parts according to technical drawings and specifications. The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards within workshop and site environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and set up conventional and/or CNC machinery such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drilling machines.
• Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Ensure precision in machining operations, performing accurate measurements using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on machining equipment.
• Select appropriate tools, cutting speeds, and feed rates for efficient machining.
• Fabricate, modify, and repair mechanical parts as required for maintenance or project needs.
• Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with required tolerances and standards.
• Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean working environment, and ensure compliance with company and site safety guidelines.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other technicians to complete machining tasks within deadlines.
• Maintain accurate records of machining activities, materials used, and completed tasks.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Machining, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Machinist (experience in Qatar or Gulf region is an advantage).
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, materials, and measurement tools.
• Hands-on experience with conventional and/or CNC machines.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and manufacturing instructions.
• Familiarity with workshop safety practices and procedures.
