Maintenance Procurement Manager

The Procurement Manager reports to the Director of Maintenance and will support the company’s procurement and supply chain requirements. This position is responsible for purchasing materials, equipment, supplies and services of a specialized or complex nature in accordance with applicable purchasing procedures, Maintenance Manuals, or Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR). The Procurement Manager will review and analyze purchase requests, investigate and develop sources of supplies, prepare bid specifications, issue bid requests, and review price quotations.

Essential Duties & Accountabilities:

• Responsible for the procurement of assigned goods and services required to support Apollo MedFlight Aviation Operations.
• Uses best procurement practices to obtain lowest cost and best lead times for assigned items.
• Develop relationships with strategic suppliers, brokers, and manufacturers.
• Performs purchasing duties requiring necessary skills to plan and procure supplies, materials, equipment and services
• Under supervision, prepares RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs for goods and services. Evaluates supplier proposals and updates software to communicate current pricing & lead time data.
• Places purchase orders for goods and services in support of Apollo MedFlight Aviation Operations
• Expedites purchase orders as required
• Resolves issues pertaining to purchase orders: receiving, invoicing discrepancies and timely closure of purchase orders
• Establish and manage an AOG Parts control program for procurement coverage 24/7. Program will include policies, procedures, communication chains and steps to resolution.
• Has extensive contact with suppliers
• Interfaces with Apollo MedFlight team members at many levels, up to and including upper management
• Utility player trained in shipping & receiving department
• Track and return cores to suppliers in order to avoid unnecessary expense to the company.
• Track, manage and maintain all company owned tooling and calibrated tooling
• Track, manage and maintain all company owned aircraft medical equipment
• Track, manage and maintain all company owned ground support equipment.
  • Assist with budgeting needs for ground support equipment for new bases
• Provide guidance for lowest cost fueling options and fueling equipment
• Track, manage, and maintain all company aircraft parts inventories in Amarillo.
• Assist personnel at satellite locations with the inventories at those satellite locations.
• Audit all aircraft parts inventories on a periodic basis.
• Work with Apollo Finance Department to ensure payment of invoices
• Work with Vendors to secure billing terms that coincide with the Apollo Finance Department policy.

Job Requirements:

• Demonstrate high levels of verbal and written communication, human relation skills and reasoning ability.
• Experience with planning systems and requirement generation (Min/Max process).
• Ability to effectively negotiate price, quality, and delivery schedules to maximize cost savings.
• Superior contract negotiator with strategic purchasing skills and vision.
• Ability to train employees in various procurement activities.
• Excellent skills in multi-tasking, organization and prioritization of multiple projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in related area preferred OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Service purchasing experience strongly preferred.
