The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the maintenance team. This role ensures that all equipment, machinery, and building systems are maintained in good working condition to meet production and operational requirements. The Supervisor will coordinate, schedule, and supervise maintenance activities, enforce safety standards, and manage maintenance personnel to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and manage a team of maintenance technicians and workers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Coordinate daily maintenance tasks, assigning responsibilities based on priority and skill set, and ensuring optimal team efficiency.
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to improve technician skills and advance their professional growth.
- Oversee and ensure the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime, increase the lifespan of equipment, and improve overall operational efficiency.
- Monitor and analyse equipment performance data to identify trends, develop improvement strategies, and schedule proactive maintenance tasks.
- Lead and manage troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other facility systems during both scheduled maintenance and emergency breakdowns.
- Ensure timely repairs to minimize production disruptions while maintaining the highest quality standards for safety and efficiency.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize maintenance procedures, workflows, and resource allocation to achieve cost-effective maintenance operations.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to align maintenance schedules with production demands, reducing unplanned downtime and improving overall productivity.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials and maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
- Ensure that maintenance personnel utilize proper safety equipment, follow safe work practices, and participate in safety audits and inspections.
- Maintain accurate records for inspections, maintenance activities, and equipment performance to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and equipment, placing orders as necessary to ensure availability of required materials.
- Coordinate sourcing of high-quality, cost-effective supplies and services.
- Manage the maintenance budget by tracking costs, identifying opportunities for cost-saving initiatives, and ensuring that work is completed within budget constraints.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, work orders, and repairs.
- Be available for emergency troubleshooting and repairs outside of regular working hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues that may impact operations or safety.
- Work closely with other departments, such as production and operations, to schedule maintenance and ensure minimal disruption to daily operations
- Actively identify and implement process improvements that enhance the efficiency, quality, and safety of the maintenance operations.
- Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, downtime analysis, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) for senior management.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for recurrent equipment issues and develop corrective action plans to eliminate them.
- Collaborate with project team for equipment installations, pre-opening and handover after project completion.
