Role Purpose:
Maintenance Engineer to service all factory machines and utilities.
Key Responsibility:
- Machine Maintenance: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on high-pressure dyeing machines and finishing equipment.
- Utility Oversight: Monitor and maintain critical support systems, including steam boilers, water treatment (softener) plants, wastewater treatment (ETP), and air compressors.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- System Calibration: Calibrate temperature controllers, and level units to ensure precise dyeing recipes.
- Inventory & Documentation: Manage spare parts inventory and maintain detailed maintenance logs through computerized systems (CMMS).
- Safety Compliance: Enforce health and safety protocols (EHS), including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and the safe handling of hazardous chemicals. .
- Machine Expertise: Hands-on knowledge of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and PLC-controlled systems.
- Drafting & Design: Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with production staff.
- Lead and support Kaizen initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and cost.
- Identify waste and improvement opportunities using Lean tools (VSM, 5S/6S, Standard Work, SMED, etc.)
- Facilitate continuous improvement workshops and cross-functional improvement projects.
- Analyse workflows and layouts to optimize manpower utilization, space, and material flow.
- Analyse operational KPIs including productivity, OTIF, efficiency, and WIP.
- Prepare performance reports and dashboards for management review.
- Support root cause analysis and development of corrective and preventive actions.
- Use data and analysis to support decision-making and improvement actions.
- Engage operators and supervisors in improvement activities and Kaizen events.
- Provide CI coaching and guidance to shopfloor teams.
- Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture within all improvement initiatives.
- Industrial Engineering: KAIZEN knowledge is preferred in addition to project management, and it will be a plus point to have a green belt in Six Sigma.
- The role often requires working in hot and humid environments typical of dyeing operations and may involve a rotational shift pattern, including nights or weekends.
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
- Fresh graduates are welcomed up to 3 years of experience in factory environments.
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP).
- OSHA general for safety.
