The Maintenance Supervisor I is responsible for repairs and maintenance of locks, lock sets, doors door closures and hinges. Orders replacement materials as needed. Individual combinates the Best Lock System, pick locks, maintains lock location records, makes key from lock requests and completes work orders in a timely manner. Also installs locks and hardware on cabinets and medical carts. Individual performs complex restoration, renovation and maintenance work in a designated skilled trade. Work also involves general building repairs and alterations. Individual must have the ability to train/and or supervise others, to organize preventive maintenance programs, to apply methods, techniques, and procedures in the maintenance and repair of buildings and related equipment. Recognizes, encourages and develops employees under his/her supervision. Individual must assist in other trades as needed. Must have knowledge of the Best Key Coding System. This person must be able to operate a state vehicle for the expedition of workflow for the department. Individual must have a valid Texas Driver’s License in order to expedite the workflow for the department. This position requires minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of independent judgement and works under direct supervision of the plant manager.

Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications: Valid Texas Driver’s License
Knowledge Skills Abilities: Knowledge and skill in Best Lock System, Keystone computer system, best key coding system, door closure installation, must have experience installing doors and frames, mortise locks and cylindrical locks.
Initial Screening Criteria:
Experience in best key coding.
Experience with the Key Stone computer system.
Experience in door installation.
Experience in kick down door frame installation.
1 year of experience as a supervisor required.

Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks including the Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CANRS), Nurse Aide, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct and HHS List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Flexibility in work hours may be required for this position. The position may be required to work overtime and/or extended hours. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
