Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
- Troubleshoot and repair machinery, electrical systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and schematics to minimize downtime.
- Conduct welding repairs and mechanical adjustments using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure equipment integrity.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals to accurately diagnose issues.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule upcoming tasks.
- Support facilities maintenance activities including residential painting, HVAC repairs, and general building upkeep.
- Supervise or assist with team members on maintenance projects while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Use testing tools such as ohmmeters to measure electrical resistance and verify system functionality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety standards at all times.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to minimize production disruptions through timely repairs and proactive maintenance.
Experience
- Proven experience in facilities or manufacturing maintenance with a strong background in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical schematics is highly desirable.
- Skilled in welding techniques with the ability to perform metal repairs confidently.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance setting is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English across diverse teams.
- Knowledge of residential painting techniques is considered an asset but not required.
- Ability to use testing instruments such as ohmmeters confidently for electrical troubleshooting.
