Maintenance Technician

Position Summary:

The 1st shift Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment and facility systems to support safe and efficient operations. This position requires strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, the ability to diagnose equipment issues, and hands-on experience performing repairs on manufacturing machinery. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and work collaboratively with production teams to minimize downtime. This position must be willing to work overtime, and weekends as needed to support production demands. Flexible scheduling, including time off during the week when weekends are worked, may be available.

Essential Functions:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues on manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
  • Help or assist in the repair, replacement, and alignment of machine components including spindles, bearings, motors, belts, gears, pumps, and other mechanical systems.
  • Help or assist in troubleshooting electrical systems including motors, drives, sensors, relays, contactors, and control circuits.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Install, modify, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and controls in accordance with applicable codes and company standards.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and work efficiently to restore production operations.
  • Assist with machine moves, equipment installations, and process improvement projects.
  • Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and documentation of repairs performed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements.
  • Assist with general facility maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Forklift, crane, hoist and rigging experience.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment failures and determine root causes.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Dependable work ethic and commitment to safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanical Technology, Electrical Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining CNC machines, machining centers, grinders, heat treat equipment, or other industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment or similar industry preferred.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 certified environment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and use hands to handle or operate tools, equipment, and machinery
  • Ability to sit at a workstation or desk for extended periods when performing documentation tasks
  • Must be able to lift and/or move materials weighing up to approximately 75 pounds
  • Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Frequent exposure to a manufacturing environment, including moving machinery, noise, metal components, oils, and coolants
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
