Maintenance Technician

Job description

We are looking for a thorough Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of residential and commercial properties. You will perform maintenance tasks such as painting, appliance installations, repair work etc. A Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

· Preparing residential and commercial property facilities for move in.

· Performs assigned repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance for heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) units, electrical appliances, outlets, light fixtures, plumbing, carpentry, and locks.

· Clear compassionate communication with tenants.

· Install appliances and equipment; read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.

· Check functionality of safety systems.

· Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide.

· Collaborate with other maintenance employees or professionals.

· Travel to several locations in dependable personal vehicle to perform repairs.

· Provide clear feedback for work completed in the form of work order notes, emails, or phone calls.

· Serves on-call on a rotation basis responding to emergency and after-hours maintenance work orders.

· Follows safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above functions, reports/removes unsafe equipment.

· Performs other duties (e.g. landscaping) as assigned.

Skills

• Proven experience as maintenance technician.
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods. Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills. In good physical condition and strength to regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable, organized, and self-motivated.
• Effective reading and oral communication skills, appropriate social skills, computer/mobile phone literate. Ability to pass drug and background check.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred); Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus.

Experience:

• 3 years (Preferred); Property maintenance, mechanical repairs, or construction trades.

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
