Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining convenience store and restaurant facilities in a safe, clean, and operational condition. This position requires a self-motivated individual who can independently diagnose problems, perform repairs, prioritize work orders, and provide guidance to maintenance assistants when needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and complete minor repairs to building systems, equipment, fixtures, and grounds with minimal supervision.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine the most effective repair solutions.
- Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing repairs, basic electrical work, painting, carpentry, flooring repairs, door and lock repairs, and equipment maintenance.
- Conduct routine inspections of convenience store and restaurant locations to identify maintenance needs and potential safety hazards.
- Perform minor maintenance and repairs on fuel dispensing equipment, including replacing hoses, nozzles, breakaway couplings, filters, and other non-regulated fuel system components; troubleshoot basic pump operation issues and coordinate with certified fuel service vendors when specialized repairs are required.
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks to reduce equipment downtime and costly repairs.
- Coordinate and delegate tasks to maintenance helpers and groundskeeping staff, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to company standards.
- Prioritize maintenance requests and manage multiple projects across various locations.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and materials used.
- Operate and maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment safely.
- Assist with parking lot maintenance, line striping, landscaping, debris removal, and general property upkeep.
- Respond to urgent maintenance issues as needed to minimize disruption to store and restaurant operations.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, handyman services, or a related field preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to assign, monitor, and follow up on work delegated to maintenance helpers.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repair techniques.
- Ability to read and follow maintenance manuals, work orders, and safety procedures.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor including bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Work Schedule
This position is generally Monday through Friday during daytime hours; however, occasional evening or weekend work may be required to address emergency repairs or special projects.
This role is ideal for someone who takes initiative, enjoys solving problems, and can be trusted to keep multiple store and restaurant locations operating efficiently with minimal supervision.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
