Maintenance Technician (Plumbing & Electrical)

Job Purpose

To ensure uninterrupted operation of the hotel’s plumbing and electrical systems, with a primary focus on plumbing maintenance and a secondary role in basic electrical support. The position is essential to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and fully functional environment for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary – Plumbing Duties

• Carry out repairs and routine maintenance of water supply lines, drainage systems, and sanitary fittings.
• Diagnose and fix leaks, replace faucets, unclog drains, and service pumps/valves.
• Conduct preventive inspections in guest rooms, washrooms, kitchens, laundry, and staff areas.
• Respond promptly to guest complaints and emergency plumbing issues.
• Assist with the installation of new fixtures during renovations or facility upgrades.

Secondary – Electrical Duties

• Perform minor electrical repairs, such as replacing bulbs, switches, and fuses.
• Assist in routine checks of backup power systems (UPS/inverters).
• Report and escalate major electrical faults to the senior technician or maintenance contractor.
• Safely carry out basic wiring and connection tasks under supervision.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3–5 years of relevant plumbing experience (hotel or commercial property preferred).
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and safety procedures (certification preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret plumbing and electrical schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Physically fit and available for after hours emergency maintenance calls.
