Maintenance Worker, Senior

Under the direction of the Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation, perform semi-skilled to skilled maintenance work in the general maintenance, repair and construction of District facilities and equipment

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

Incumbents in the Senior Maintenance Worker classification perform a variety of semi-skilled to skilled work in the maintenance, construction and repair of District facilities and equipment. Incumbents in the Maintenance Worker classification perform unskilled to semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on District facilities and equipment.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

Perform semi-skilled to skilled work in the maintenance, repair and construction work in the basic trades such as carpentry, welding, plumbing and heating, electrical, masonry, glazing and locksmithing; work from blueprint, drawings, sketches or verbal instructions. E

Perform a variety of gas and arc welding work; fabricate, install and repair playground equipment, fencing, gates and other equipment. E

Perform a variety of glazing work; install and repair window glass. E

Construct, install, maintain and repair roofs, rain gutters, signs and Venetian blinds, furniture, cabinets, shelving and related structures. E

Install, repair and maintain doors, locks and closures. E

Repair roof and window leaks, lay floor tiles; repair or replace acoustical panels and ceiling tiles. E

Perform a variety of sheet metalwork to include the fabrication, installation and repair of galvanized gutters, downspouts, splash panels and flashing, ducts, lockers and storage cabinets. E

Install, maintain and repair plumbing systems including irrigation systems, restroom facility fixtures; repair sinks garbage disposals and drinking fountains; install and repair flag poles. E

Install and repair electrical outlets, switches, circuit breakers, relays, diffusers and lighting fixtures. E

Perform a variety of masonry work involving plaster, stucco and concrete; form, pour, shape and finish concrete. E

Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports related to work orders, labor and materials. E

Operate a variety of tools and equipment and machines related to assigned function including saws, drill presses and grinders. E

Perform related duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $4,118.00 - $5,256.00 per month
