Manager Financial Reporting

Job summary


Jo Looking for a motivated and self-driven finance professional who can manage the month-end close cycle, oversee reporting accuracy, and work closely with senior management in a fast-paced banking environment.

The selected candidate will play a key role in ensuring timely closure of monthly accounts, integrity of financial data, and effective coordination across departments for management reporting purposes. The role also requires preparation of high-quality financial presentations and performance packs for review at CEO level.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage the monthly financial closing process, ensuring timelines are met and financial information is accurate and complete.
  • Oversee General Ledger reconciliations and ensure prompt resolution of outstanding and reconciling items.
  • Review month-end accruals, provisions, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments.
  • Oversee preparation and finalization of monthly management financials.
  • Perform variance analysis of income statement and balance sheet movements.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Treasury, HR, Business, IT, Risk, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly financial dashboards, management presentations, and review packs for CEO and senior management meetings.
  • Highlight key business trends, risks, unusual movements, and performance insights.
  • Ensure strong internal controls over reporting processes and recommend improvements.
  • Support audit requirements by providing schedules and reconciliations.
  • Drive automation and process improvements in reporting and closing activities.


Eligibility Criteria


  • CA / ACCA / CMA qualified or partly qualified.
  • Relevant experience in Banking, Microfinance Banking, Financial Services would be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of month-end closing, General Ledger controls, accrual accounting, and management reporting.
  • Sound understanding of financial statements and reporting frameworks.
  • Strong command over Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of ERP / Core Banking systems.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage strict reporting deadlines.
  • Strong grip on accounting standards related to financial reporting, presentation. Financial instruments, leases.
