Job Title:

Manager – HR Operations

Department: HR Operations / Payroll & Compliance Services

Reporting To: Head – HR Operations / Director – HR & Compliance

Location: Janakpuri, New Delhi

Position Overview:

The Manager – HR Operations will be responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end HR operations and payroll delivery process for multiple client organizations. This includes ensuring accuracy, statutory compliance, process efficiency, and high client satisfaction. The role involves managing a team of HR operations executives, coordinating with internal departments (Compliance, HRMS, Finance), and acting as the primary escalation point for client queries.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payroll & HR Operations Management:

  • Oversee and ensure 100% accurate and timely payroll processing for all assigned clients.
  • Review payroll inputs including attendance, leave, overtime, arrears, reimbursements, and full & final settlements.
  • Validate salary structures, statutory deductions (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS), and coordinate with the compliance team for timely filings.
  • Ensure adherence to client-specific payroll policies and statutory requirements.
  • Review and approve salary registers, bank statements, payslips, and MIS reports before release.

2. Client Relationship Management:

  • Act as the single point of contact for key client accounts for all HR operations and payroll-related matters.
  • Understand client requirements, SLAs, and process workflows to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Conduct monthly review meetings with clients to share payroll summaries, compliance updates, and improvement insights.
  • Manage escalations effectively and ensure timely resolution of queries.

3. Team Leadership & Performance Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and monitor a team of HR Operations Executives/Associates handling multiple client portfolios.
  • Allocate work, review deliverables, and ensure team adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team capability in payroll systems, Excel, and statutory compliance.
  • Implement process checklists and internal audits to minimize payroll errors.

4. Statutory & Compliance Coordination:

  • Coordinate with the Compliance team to ensure timely and accurate filing of PF, ESI, PT, LWF, and TDS returns.
  • Support internal/external audits and ensure documentation readiness for statutory inspections.
  • Stay updated with the latest labour laws, tax amendments, and compliance requirements impacting payroll and HR operations.

5. HRMS & Automation:

  • Oversee HRMS data management and ensure accuracy of employee master data.
  • Support implementation of HRMS/payroll software for new clients, including system configuration and user training.
  • Drive automation and process efficiency initiatives within HR operations.

6. Reporting & Analysis:

  • Generate and analyze payroll and workforce reports for management and clients.
  • Track and report on payroll accuracy, timeliness, and client satisfaction metrics.
  • Present process improvement reports and cost-saving recommendations to management.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll processing, statutory compliance, and HR operations.
  • Proficiency in Excel, HRMS systems, and payroll software (e.g., GreytHR, Keka, Darwin Box HROne, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, client management, and team leadership skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving orientation.
  • Ability to handle multiple clients and large data volumes with accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in HR, Commerce, or Business Administration.
  • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources preferred.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in HR Operations and Payroll Management, with at least 2–3 years in a team lead or managerial role within a payroll outsourcing or HR shared services environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
