As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will lead the optimization, qualification, and documentation of manufacturing processes, ensuring production excellence, quality compliance, and continuous improvement across ammunition manufacturing operations.
Key Accountabilities

Lead the establishment, qualification, and continuous optimization of manufacturing processes to meet production, quality, and safety requirements

Develop and maintain technical requirements and specifications for raw materials and purchased components

Oversee the creation, implementation, and governance of Control Plans, SOPs, and manufacturing process documentation

Ensure successful execution of pilot batch qualifications, machine commissioning, and process capability studies

Manage and resolve customer complaints related to manufacturing or process nonconformance through corrective and preventive actions

Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including value stream mapping, waste reduction, and process efficiency improvements

Implement and monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) to ensure stable and capable production processes

Apply advanced problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, and 5-Why to address manufacturing and quality issues

Collaborate closely with Quality, R&D, and Production teams to support product development and scalable manufacturing

Provide training and technical guidance to production and quality teams on process controls, SPC, and SOP compliance

Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing manufacturing engineering team

Experience / Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering

Master’s degree or MBA is preferred

Lean, Six Sigma, or similar certifications are highly desirable

Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering
-
At least 5 years in a leadership role within high-precision manufacturing environments
-
Experience within ammunition, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing industries is strongly preferred
