Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Advancement Operations, the Manager of Data Operations is responsible for supervising and maintaining the Advancement Department’s constituent relationship management (CRM) systems, primarily the Raiser’s Edge database, and coordinating with other financial and event software. Responsibilities include database administration, maintenance, analysis, reporting, and general data management for the Advancement Department.
The Manager of Data Operations ensures the integrity of the database by importing information and serving as the expert in all components of the CRM. This role includes executing gift entry processes accurately and in a timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities

Manage quality control to ensure accurate data entry in the database.

Manage database clean-up projects and information changes, serve as point person for all changes to contact information in database.

Manage AJU’s gift entry process, entering gifts, pledges, and gift agreements accurately and in a timely manner.

Develop and run reports for data analysis, including new data entering the system.

In partnership with the Marketing department, design and implement donation and event forms for Advancement activities.

In coordination with the Director of Advancement Operations, collaborate with the Accounting department on reconciliations, gift adjustments, write-offs, and audit reports.

Oversee acknowledgment letters and issue annual tax receipts.

Create new appeals, funds, and fields in the database.

Manage integrated tools, such as list management and import tools that are connected to the database.

Serve as the primary Advancement contact for database issues.

Manage data flow between Raiser’s Edge and other internal systems, request and prepare necessary reports to import data from other sources into Raiser’s Edge.

Run reports and manage data related to the direct mail program and e-solicitations.

Ensure proper data usage across departments for emails and mailings, coordinating email lists with Raiser’s Edge.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

A deep and thorough understanding and experience working with a Donor CRM like Blackbaud or Salesforce.com. Data management and reporting expertise strongly preferred.

Ability to quickly grasp conceptual plans and implement them in a timely manner with close attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to synthesize complex information.

Strong strategic thinking skills with an ability to use data to make decisions and translate strategy to action.

Highly organized and able to track and manage multiple projects simultaneously, including ability to prioritize work projects and meet deadlines.
