What you will do as our Manager of Catering and Events

• Manage event inquiries, proposals, and contracts
• Plan and coordinate all event logistics and catering details
• Prepare and distribute banquet event orders (BEOs)
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients before and during events
• Work with operations teams to ensure successful event execution
• Maximize revenue through catering sales and upselling opportunities

Requirements

To thrive as the Full Time Manager of Catering and Events at The Westin Jekyll Island, you'll need a diverse skill set that highlights your expertise in event management and coordination.

• High school diploma or GED; experienced (1 – 2 years of experience) in the event management or related professional area.

OR

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; at least 1 year experience in the event management or related professional area required.
• A strong background in catering sales paired with solid food and beverage knowledge will be essential for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Effective communication skills are crucial for collaborating with both internal teams and external partners, while your organizational skills will help keep all events running smoothly.
• Time management will be your best friend as you juggle multiple tasks and deadlines, allowing you to prioritize effectively. Bring your passion for hospitality and a knack for creating memorable moments, and you'll be well on your way to making a lasting impact in our vibrant community!
