Manager Operations - Logistics & Warehousing

India

The Manager – Operations (Warehousing & Logistics) will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the company’s end-to-end warehousing, distribution, and logistics operations across India. The role demands strong leadership, process orientation, and industry-specific knowledge to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective handling of chemicals and food ingredients.

Warehousing Operations

  • Oversee daily warehouse activities including inbound, storage, inventory management, and outbound operations.
  • Ensure compliance with chemical handling, safety protocols, and food-grade standards.
  • Maintain stock accuracy through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation.
  • Drive warehouse layout optimization, space utilization, and process automation where possible.
  • Implement SOPs and best practices for material handling, labeling, and packaging.

Logistics & Distribution

  • Plan and manage transportation for domestic distribution (PAN-India) ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
  • Negotiate with transporters, 3PLs, and freight forwarders to optimize cost and service levels.
  • Monitor vehicle placement, transit times, and delivery performance with strong focus on OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) metrics.
  • Ensure proper documentation for chemical transport as per regulatory norms (MSDS, hazardous goods declarations, etc.).

People & Process Management

  • Lead and develop warehouse & logistics teams including supervisors and ground staff.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Sales, Procurement, and Finance for seamless order fulfillment.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Industry best practices.

Performance & Cost Optimization

  • Monitor KPIs including inventory accuracy, order turnaround time, cost per ton/km, and warehouse efficiency.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in storage, transportation, and process automation.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets for warehousing & logistics.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of chemical and food ingredients warehousing norms (hazardous & non-hazardous).
  • Knowledge of supply chain systems, WMS, ERP (Preferably Zoho).
  • Excellent negotiation skills with vendors and logistics service providers.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to use data for decision-making.
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and sustainability.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate in Supply Chain / Logistics / Commerce.
  • 8–12 years of experience in warehousing & logistics operations within Trading / Distribution / Chemicals / Food Ingredients industry.
  • Hands-on experience in PAN-India distribution, multi-warehouse management, and 3PL operations.
  • Proven track record of driving efficiency and cost optimization.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
