Job Title: Manager Payroll & Taxation

Department: Finance / HR Coordination
Location: Ferozepur Road, Lahore

Position Summary:

The Manager Payroll & Taxation is responsible for managing all payroll operations and ensuring compliance with statutory tax laws and labor regulations. This role oversees accurate salary processing, employee benefits, deductions, and tax filings, while ensuring alignment with company policies and government requirements. The position also serves as a key link between the Finance and HR departments to maintain transparency and compliance in payroll and taxation matters.

Key Responsibilities:Payroll Management

  • Oversee end-to-end monthly payroll processing for all employees, including permanent, contractual, and daily wagers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of salaries, bonuses, and overtime payments.
  • Reconcile payroll data with attendance, HRIS, and finance systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
  • Coordinate with HR for employee status changes (new hires, terminations, transfers, and promotions).

Taxation & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with income tax laws, EOBI and other statutory requirements.
  • Calculate, deduct, and deposit withholding taxes as per applicable laws.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and annual tax statements (FBR & PRA).
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities for payroll-related audits or inspections.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and implement required updates in payroll policies.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly payroll reconciliations and reports for management review.
  • Manage year-end payroll closing and generate employee tax certificates.
  • Support cost budgeting and forecasting activities related to manpower.
  • Provide data and analysis for internal and external audits.

System & Process Improvement

  • Supervise payroll software operations (Odoo ERP / HRMS integration).
  • Identify and implement automation or process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: MBA (Finance) / M.Com / ACCA / CA (Inter) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setup (experience in silicone, chemical, or glass industry will be an advantage).
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and ERP software (Odoo preferred).
  • In-depth understanding of Pakistan’s tax laws, EOBI, and Social Security regulations.
  • Advanced Excel skills and payroll reconciliation experience.
