Job Summary

Summary

In conjunction with peer organizations within the enterprise, responsible for facilitating and implementing the organization's comprehensive professional development and educational training programs. This position focuses on enhancing competencies (knowledge, skills, behaviors, and judgment) of hospital staff, ensuring all remain current in best practices, innovative advancements in healthcare, and regulatory requirements. The Manager collaborates with various departments and stakeholders to deliver effective learning initiatives that contribute to the overall growth and success of the hospital.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate and implement a wide range of educational/training programs tailored to meet the specific needs of clinical and non-clinical staff members within Nursing & Patient Care Services and in partnership with other hospital services.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify skill gaps and learning needs among hospital staff and use the results to inform training initiatives.
  • Facilitate and implement comprehensive education/training curricula that align with system and hospital strategic goals and objectives, ensuring that staff members receive continuous professional development opportunities.
  • Organize and conduct engaging and interactive educational/training sessions, workshops, seminars, and other learning activities to address various topics, such as evidence-based patient care initiatives, improved safety protocols, leadership development, technology, and compliance.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new Nursing & Patient Care Services employees, coordinating with department heads to provide a smooth integration into the hospital culture and role-specific training.
  • Coordinate accurate records of employee onboarding, training and development activities, monitoring progress and performance improvements resulting from professional development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with peer leaders, external training providers, institutions, and organizations to access additional resources and expertise, enabling the hospital to offer a broad range of learning opportunities.
  • Explore and implement innovative training technologies, e-learning platforms, and tools to enhance the delivery and effectiveness of training programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field of study required. Master's degree in Nursing/related field of study preferred.

Licenses and Credentials
MA Registered Nurse required

Nursing Professional Development Certification required within 2 years of hire.

Experience
5-7 years of proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing training programs in a healthcare or hospital setting required. 2-3 years of Management Experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of healthcare industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate various audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and e-learning platforms is desirable.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate training program effectiveness and measure staff development progress.
  • A passion for continuous learning and a commitment to staying abreast of industry trends and advancements.
