Purpose of the Role

The Procurement Project Manager is responsible for leading and executing all procurement activities across complex engineering and construction projects, ensuring alignment with Worley’s commitment to delivering sustainable change. This role oversees the full procurement lifecycle — from supplier engagement and contract management to material delivery and compliance — while maintaining budget, schedule, and quality performance. By providing strategic leadership and guidance, the Procurement Project Manager contributes to Worley’s ambition of being a recognized leader in sustainability solutions, driving innovation, collaboration, and value creation for customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Manage all procurement phases of assigned projects, including planning, sourcing, expediting, and delivery of materials, equipment, and services.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with project objectives, sustainability goals, and customer requirements.

  • Supplier & Contract Management: Lead supplier qualification, negotiations, and performance management to ensure cost efficiency, compliance, and risk mitigation.

  • Schedule & Budget Control: Monitor procurement schedules, manufacturing progress, and delivery milestones to keep projects on track and within budget.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with engineering, construction, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of procurement activities with overall project execution.

  • Reporting & Analytics: Prepare and present detailed procurement status reports, highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommended actions to project leadership.

  • Team Development: Provide guidance, technical oversight, and mentorship to procurement staff, fostering a collaborative and results-driven team environment.

  • Continuous Improvement: Support the development of procurement processes, systems, and tools that enhance project efficiency, data visibility, and cost control.

Qualifications / Skillset

  • Education & Experience:

    • University degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

    • Extensive procurement and supply chain experience in engineering, energy, chemicals, or resources projects.

    • Proven track record managing procurement for large, complex, and multi-discipline projects.

  • Technical & Professional Skills:

    • Advanced knowledge of procurement systems, contract management, and supplier performance processes.

    • Strong capability in developing and implementing procurement strategies that drive project success.

    • Skilled in schedule control, budget monitoring, and risk mitigation.

  • Leadership & Communication:

    • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.

    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to inform, persuade, and influence on complex matters.

    • Strategic thinker with a focus on delivering measurable results and long-term value.
