Key Responsibilities:
- Lead formulation of new spice blends, recipe mixes, powders, seasonings and dry mixes & desserts based on customer briefs and market trends.
- Conduct pilot trials and scale up successful formulations for commercial production.
- Improve existing products in terms of taste, cost, texture and shelf life.
- Explore and apply clean-label solutions, natural preservatives and flavor enhancers.
- Maintain detailed formulation records, recipe sheets and product technical dossiers.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales for sampling, claims and technical support.
- Establish and monitor quality systems to ensure consistent product safety and compliance.
- Implement and oversee GMP, GHP, HACCP and ISO 22000 systems in the plant.
- Develop and validate quality parameters for raw materials, in-process checks and finished goods.
- Maintain QC labs for sensory evaluation, microbial testing, moisture content analysis.
- Drive root cause analysis and CAPA (Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions) for customer complaints and internal quality issues.
- Ensure traceability and documentation of all quality processes and batch records.
- Ensure product and labeling compliance with FOOD MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (FMS) and export regulations.
- Prepare and maintain regulatory documentation FOOD MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (FMS) licenses, ingredient declarations, nutritional panels and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet).
- Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies during inspections and certifications.
- Work closely with production for new product trials, scale-up and process validation.
- Support procurement in evaluating new raw materials and vendor quality.
- Collaborate with maintenance and safety teams to ensure hygiene and safety compliance in critical areas.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: M.Sc. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Food Technology, Food Science, or related field
- Experience: 8–10 years in food processing, specifically in recipe mixes, whole spices, salt, seasonings, desserts, with hands-on experience in both QA and R&D roles.
· Certifications (preferred): Halal, HACCP, FSSC 22000 based on ISO 22000 Internal Auditor, Food Safety Lead Auditor etc.
