  • Executing complex field trials across corn and rice and multiple sites to deliver high-quality data to enable accurate and timely decisions in the advancement of products through the pre-commercial and breeding pipelines.
  • Ensure field testing innovation strategy and plans in place to enable and advance data science driven Precision Breeding.
  • Support evaluate mission team outcomes linked to Product Unit outcomes on all aspects related to field testing - field selection, grower management, field plot management, data collection, contribute to highest data quality.
  • Support end to end activities related to Mechanisation to support the team with timely deployment of breeding equipment for supporting field operations which involves procurement, maintenance, breakdown handling etc.
  • Actively lead and execute an innovative project/strategies developed by collaborating with stakeholders exhibiting defined LIFE attributes.


YOUR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Geographies to cover: Okara, Depalpur, Pakpathan with a plot load of ~9 K.
  • Responsible for implementation of product characterization strategy and Implementation of field testing (FT) operations and support services to deliver product pipelines in alignment with global and regional FT strategy.
  • Serve as a member of Pakistan Breeding delivering the pre-commercial Corn seed pipelines and product advancement processes and decision in Pakistan.
  • Execute field testing activities as per aligned trial plan - Trials, Data capture and Data return etc. through mechanisation and automation, contributing to efficient data driven advancement decisions. Deliver the highest data quality through the work of the employees in the organization with the use of new technology and processes. Strategically implement new technologies that drive a step-change in Breeding phenotyping, planting and harvesting processes through a partnership with automated engineering, IT, data science, and external vendors.
  • Responsible for all day-to-day operations of the testing program as well as the general operations of a multi-location testing programs. Support ineffective administration of testing responsibility, including temporary/contract employee hiring, development, training and retention; budget management; and care of assets.
  • Support end to end activities related to Mechanisation at Depalpur Equipment hub to support the team with timely deployment of breeding equipment for supporting field operations which involves procurement, maintenance, breakdown handling etc.
  • Overnight travel during the planting and harvest season is possible, wherever needed. Several 2-3 days of travel for training and other meetings are likely during the year.
  • Implementation and ensuring compliance of company/functional polices on Environment, Safety and Health, Quality Management Systems and stewardship across testing locations.
  • Partner closely with Field Testing Technical unit mission teams to implement new technologies that drive a step-change in Breeding phenotyping, planting and harvesting processes through a partnership with automated engineering, IT, data science, and external vendors to improve operational efficiencies in coordination with FT Technical Unit to advance Precision Breeding.
  • Manage hybrid import, set creation, logistics, Trait Hybrid Registration process and DUS characterization, IT tools & new platforms for Breeding, plant health projects, DEKALB and Coordinate trainings. Coordinate with Govt. Scientific officers for Knowledge & Learning center their visit.
  • Transfer knowledge of new deployments to Market Development, Marketing, Product Management & sales colleagues and ensure information flow on commercial inputs and gaps to internal breeding teams.



WHO YOU ARE:


  • MS in Agriculture or related field of study with 2-5 years of significant people and project management experience in an agricultural-related researchposition.
  • Relavant field experience in trialing of agricultural/horticultural crops.
  • Advanced computer skills and excellent knowledge of software related to data acquisition and analysis.
  • Expertise in handling handling equipment, tools and technologies contributing to data management, acquisition, organization, analysis.
  • Expected attributes: Coordination, Communication, Planning, Proactiveness, Interpersonal relationship.
