Position: Manager, Social Content Strategy

Reports To: Director of Social Media and Advocacy

Location: Clearwater, FL | Hybrid

Summary

The Manager, Social Content Strategy, will be a pivotal leader within our Social Media & Advocacy Team, responsible for bringing our brand identity to life on social media through captivating content. This role will own our overall social creative direction, vision, and content reporting, while collaborating with the Social Platform Strategy Team to ensure direction aligns to channel goals and best practices. This position demands a strategic thinker, a creative visionary, and a proven leader with deep expertise in the ever-evolving social media landscape, particularly in video production strategies. It also requires the ability to be a mentor, manage complexity and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working within a production team, possessing strong leadership skills in delegating to others and a demonstrated ability to build and manage robust content production workflows from concept to execution.

Position Responsibilties

  • Ownership of Social Content Strategy:
    • Collaborate with Social Platform Strategy & Paid Media Teams to create and execute a comprehensive social media content strategy (inclusive of paid media), ensuring how the brand identity comes to life across all owned social channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest.
    • Develop and maintain content style guides and social content best practices guides, ensuring consistency and brand integrity across all visual and textual elements.
    • Collaborate with the Manager of Social Media Production to ensure vision translates to the production workflow and briefs through clear creative direction, constructive feedback, development of content guidelines and provide clear creative direction, constructive feedback, and ample professional development opportunities, nurturing growth and skill sets with the Manager of Social Content Production.
    • Spearhead all strategic social content initiatives with reoccurring meetings and brainstorms with Social Platform Strategy Team, Marketing Team, and Paid Media Team.
    • Work alongside the Social Platform Strategy Managers and Social Production Manager to rigorously manage the social content production briefing calendar and content pipeline, ensuring a consistent, diverse, and fresh supply of content to maintain audience engagement.
    • Manage external social content agencies, ensuring their deliverables align with strategic goals and brand guidelines.
    • Create a proactive and agile social content workflow for trending, real-time moments to keep SalonCentric culturally fluent and relevant in the social space.
  • Collaboration & Creative Direction:
    • Collaborate closely with social sub-departments, internal cross-functional partners, and SalonCentric brands to bring content and brief requirements to life, translating strategic objectives into compelling social narratives and visuals.
    • Ensure that all social content rigorously adheres to brand guidelines, maintaining a consistent brand voice, tone, and visual identity across all social platforms.
    • Actively brainstorm and concept innovative content ideas that resonate deeply with target audiences and effectively leverage current social media trends.
  • Performance Analysis & Optimization:
    • Meticulously analyze performance metrics, specifically Engagement, Engagement Rate, and Video Views, for all content buckets across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest.
    • Conduct comprehensive reporting on content buckets, providing data-driven insights and recommendations for continuous optimization to improve content performance.
    • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, emerging social platforms, content best practices, and new social media features to continually foster innovation within the team.
  • Budget Management:
    • Manage the social content production and creative agency budget effectively, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources and the creation of cost-effective, high-quality assets.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Media Production, Multimedia Production, Video Production, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in social media content creation and production.
  • Preferred to have experience in a leadership or management role directly overseeing creative and video teams.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively within a production team environment, with a strong creative portfolio showcasing diverse content formats, especially high-quality video for social media.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing direct reports and the ability to build, optimize, and manage complex content production workflows from concept to completion.
  • Advanced proficiency with industry-standard video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro), project management tools (e.g. Monday.com and Wrike), graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva), and social media management/analytics platforms.
  • A strong, nuanced understanding of social media algorithms, current trends, and content best practices across all major platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest).
  • Exceptional leadership, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills, with a knack for motivating and guiding creative talent and fostering strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Proven experience strategizing and executing content production shoots.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, creatively, and analytically, translating insights into actionable content plans that drive measurable results (Engagement, Engagement Rate, Video Views).
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Past creative agency experience or management of agencies preferred.
  • Familiarity with beauty and/or professional beauty industry a plus.
  • Travel required as needed.
