Job Details:

Job Summary: The REMOTE Social Media Strategy Manager guides the strategic direction, voice, and content development for Mattress Firm's paid and owned social media campaigns. This role monitors trends and pop culture to inform storytelling and content strategy, ensuring alignment with brand objectives. The position requires strong analytical and strategic capabilities and plays a key role in shaping the company's social media presence.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Develop and maintain a cohesive social media strategy (annual and monthly) across organic and paid channels, aligned to brand, campaign, and business objectives

  • Creative Strategy: Write creative briefs and guide creative development and content strategies tailored by platform, ensuring storytelling is engaging, on-brand, and drives performance

  • Optimization: Continuously monitor performance and develop recommendations to refine creative, messaging, and overall strategy for effectiveness

  • Analytics & Performance: Define KPIs, measure results, develop monthly/quarterly/annual performance reports and turn insights into action plans that drive business results

  • Trend Monitoring: Stay ahead of emerging cultural moments, platform innovations, and best practices, translating insights into timely opportunities for the brand

  • Content & Campaigns: Partner with brand, creative, and media teams to bring campaigns to life in social, ensuring messaging hierarchy and design are optimized for each channel

  • Influencer & Community Building: Partner with the Influencer team to help identify partnership opportunities that amplify brand messaging

  • Collaboration: Serve as the social subject matter expert across the organization, influencing cross-functional partners and leadership to maximize social’s role in the broader marketing ecosystem

  • Complete other projects and special assignments as requested by supervisor or senior management

  • Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date

  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all

  • Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts

  • Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation

  • Communicate any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

  • Contribute ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing or related discipline preferred

Professional Experience

  • 6+ Years working in social strategy in B2C

  • Working knowledge and real-world experience in planning, managing and executing social media initiatives.

Skills List

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment

  • Advanced skills monitoring and interpreting social media analytics using tools such as Sprout Social or Sprinklr

  • Proven success in planning, managing and executing social media initiatives


Competencies & Knowledge

  • Social media analytics and listening tools

  • Detailed knowledge of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, and YouTube

  • Knowledge of retail industry preferred, but not required

Compensation:

Competitive $90,000 - $105,000 * depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.

*Pay amount does not guarantee employment for any particular time.
