Job Title: Manager – Taxation

Department: Finance & Accounts

To manage and oversee the organization’s taxation matters with primary responsibility for Sales Tax compliance and secondary responsibility for Income Tax, ensuring full compliance with applicable laws, timely filings, and effective tax risk management.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales Tax (Major Responsibility)

• Oversee end-to-end Sales Tax compliance, including registration, returns, payments, and reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of sales tax on transactions.
• Manage audits, notices, assessments, and correspondence with tax authorities.
• Monitor changes in sales tax laws and assess their impact on business operations.
• Coordinate with internal teams (sales, supply chain, accounts) to ensure correct tax treatment.
• Maintain proper documentation and records for inspections and audits.
• Identify tax risks and implement controls to mitigate exposure.

Income Tax (Minor Responsibility)

• Assist in preparation and filing of income tax returns and related schedules.
• Support tax computations, advance tax, and withholding tax matters.
• Coordinate with tax consultants and auditors on income tax issues.
• Assist in responding to income tax notices and assessments.

General & Advisory

• Provide tax advice to management on transactions and business decisions.
• Support tax planning initiatives within legal frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements.
• Lead, guide, and review work of junior tax staff (if applicable).

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s / professional certification preferred).
• 5–8 years of relevant taxation experience, with strong exposure to Sales Tax.
• Working knowledge of Income Tax laws and procedures.
• Experience dealing with tax authorities and audits.
