Reports directly to the Chinese General Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly reliable and well-organized Business Assistant / GM Assistant to support our Chinese General Manager in Lahore.
This role serves as a communication hub and coordination hub between:
- The Chinese headquarters
- The local Pakistani office team
- Clients and external partners
The position is not limited to interpretation. The successful candidate is expected to convert discussions into written action items, coordinate follow-ups, and ensure proper execution and closure of tasks.
Key Responsibilities
1) Interpretation & External Communication
- Provide consecutive interpretation (Chinese ↔ English / Urdu) during meetings, calls, and site visits with clients, partners, and suppliers.
- Assist the GM in explaining and clarifying commercial and technical terms with customers.
- Prepare meeting minutes in Chinese, including key decisions, action items, responsible persons, and deadlines.
2) Internal Coordination (Local Team & China HQ)
- Act as the main communication bridge between the Chinese GM and local Pakistani staff.
- Accurately convey the GM’s instructions, priorities, and decisions to the local team.
- Collect execution updates and feedback from local staff and report them in Chinese to the GM.
- Track tasks, follow up on deadlines, and ensure proper execution and closure.

3) Trade & Order Process Support
- Assist with inquiries, quotations, samples, and order coordination.
- Check and align PI / PO details, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
- Coordinate with China-based sales, factory, logistics, and finance teams.
- Maintain customer and project tracking sheets.
4) Office & Operations Support
- Support the daily operations of the Lahore office.
- Coordinate with local service providers (logistics companies, customs brokers, drivers, suppliers).
- Organize basic administrative documents, contracts, and expense records.
- Help build and maintain simple internal workflows and templates.
Candidate Profile
Must-Have Requirements
- Pakistani national, able to work long-term in Lahore.
- Fluent spoken Chinese, capable of handling business interpretation.
- Fluent English; Urdu required; Punjabi is a plus.
- Basic understanding of international trade (e.g., PI, PO, delivery time, payment terms, logistics).
Preferred Background
- Experience working in a Chinese company, trading company, or overseas representative office.
- Experience as an assistant, coordinator, interpreter, or sales support.
- Strong note-taking, organization, and follow-up skills.
- Execution-oriented, reliable, and detail-conscious.
- Able to handle confidential business information with discretion.
Nice to Have
- Experience in solar / energy / industrial products.
- Driving license and willingness to travel within Pakistan when required.
- Basic Excel or Google Sheets skills.
