Summary/Objective

The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for performing hands-on installation and assembly work for our van conversion production line. This includes plumbing, solar and electrical systems, cabinetry, and interior finishing. This role requires technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a strong ability to work collaboratively within a production team to deliver high-quality, custom-built conversions that meet BAUSS Manufacturing’s standards.

Essential Functions

1. Assemble and install van conversion components, including plumbing, solar, electrical, cabinetry, and general interior systems.

2. Read and follow detailed work instructions, diagrams, and build plans for van conversion projects.

3. Use various hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

4. Inspect and test completed installations to ensure functionality, quality, and safety.

5. Maintain a clean and organized workspace to support efficient workflow and high production standards.

6. Identify issues in materials, tools, or processes and communicate them promptly to the supervisor.

7. Assist with receiving materials, organizing parts, and supporting general production operations as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This position operates in a workshop/manufacturing environment where employees may be exposed to dust, noise, hand tools, power tools, adhesives, and other typical production conditions. Proper PPE must be worn as required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, lift, carry, and handle materials. The role involves frequent bending, kneeling, and the use of hand and power tools. The employee must have visual acuity to inspect products and read measurements accurately.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time on-site position. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Travel

Minimal travel may be required for this position, such as assisting with field repairs or product installations.

Required Education and Experience

1. Proven experience using a variety of hand and power tools.

2. Working knowledge or hands-on experience with at least one trade area: electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, or automotive interiors.

3. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions or technical drawings.

4. Desire to learn and grow within a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Prior experience in van conversions, RV assembly, or related fields.

2. Technical or vocational coursework in electrical, plumbing, or carpentry trades.
