Job Title: Marine Service Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Marine Service Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and supporting all marine service operations, ensuring that vessels receive timely maintenance, repairs, and technical support. This role acts as a key liaison between ship crews, service providers, suppliers, and the management team, ensuring smooth service execution, compliance with safety standards, and efficient resolution of operational issues.
Key Responsibilities:1. Service Coordination
- Schedule and coordinate maintenance, repair, and technical services for vessels.
- Ensure timely procurement of spare parts, consumables, and service contracts.
- Liaise with ship crews, technical superintendents, and service providers to plan and execute maintenance activities.
- Monitor ongoing vessel operations and address service requirements promptly.
2. Vendor and Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and coordinate with approved service providers, shipyards, and contractors.
- Track vendor performance and ensure services meet quality and safety standards.
- Manage service agreements, contracts, and payment processes.
3. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of service requests, completed work, and vessel maintenance schedules.
- Prepare reports on service activities, service costs, and vendor performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and classification society requirements.
4. Communication and Liaison
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the vessel crew and shore-based management for service-related matters.
- Provide timely updates on service schedules, delays, or technical issues.
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and finance teams for smooth service delivery.
5. Problem-Solving and Support
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues reported by vessel crews.
- Escalate critical operational issues to technical superintendents or management.
- Ensure continuous support to minimize vessel downtime and operational disruption.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Logistics, or related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years in marine operations, vessel management, or technical coordination.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Understanding of vessel systems, machinery, and marine operations.
- Knowledge of maritime regulations, classification requirements, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with marine ERP or fleet management software (e.g., ShipNet, AMOS).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication, organizational, and coordination skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
