Marketing Communications Manager

Who is Coan, Payton & Payne, LLC (“CP2”)

At CP2, our mission is to empower the success of our clients, our team, and our communities by providing exceptional legal and consulting services. We live and adhere to our core values: service, trust, professionalism, excellence, collaboration, results, and leadership.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Marketing & Communications Manager, you will own the firm’s marketing and communications function end-to-end. You’ll work closely with firm leadership and individual attorneys to support business development, manage the firm’s public presence, and ensure our brand is represented consistently and professionally across all channels.

This is a high-responsibility, high-variety role. On any given week, you might be reviewing an attorney’s business development plan in the morning, designing a print ad before lunch, and drafting a press release and reaching out to media contacts by end of day. You’ll also manage vendor relationships for sponsored events, maintain and update the firm website, and track whether your PR outreach is generating coverage.

The right candidate is someone who is comfortable owning a wide scope of work while operating within a structured approval process. Final sign-off on external communications involves multiple stakeholders — we’re looking for someone who sees that as professional diligence, not a barrier.

This position is primarily based in Denver, CO. The role includes regular travel to the firm’s Fort Collins and Greeley offices — approximately one day per month to each location — to support attorneys and maintain consistent marketing presence across all three offices.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Execute the firm’s annual marketing and communications plan
  • Support individual attorneys in developing and refining their business development plans
  • Draft, distribute, and track press releases; maintain and cultivate media contacts; monitor publication of firm news across outlets
  • Develop and manage the firm's LinkedIn content calendar, including drafting and publishing posts, monitoring engagement, and tracking performance metrics
  • Support attorney speaking engagements with outside organizations, including logistics coordination, CE/CLE accreditation assistance, and production of branded materials such as presentation templates, handouts, and signage
  • Design ads and marketing collateral for print and digital channels
  • Maintain and update the firm website (content updates, attorney bios, practice area pages, news)
  • Coordinate firm participation in sponsored events; ensure the firm receives all contracted sponsorship benefits
  • Manage relationships with outside vendors (printers, media contacts, etc.)
  • Reconcile the firm’s marketing budget monthly, track spend vs. plan, and provide regular budget/marketing activity status updates to leadership
  • Report on firm marketing activities and outcomes on an ongoing basis, and prepare annual reporting on client development metrics
  • Maintain marketing calendars, deadlines, and project tracking
  • Prepare initial drafts of the firm's annual marketing plan and corresponding budget, incorporating firm-wide priorities and individual attorney business development goals, for review and approval by leadership.
  • Travel to Fort Collins and Greeley offices approximately one day per month each to support attorneys and marketing initiatives at each location

Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this position. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 5–8 years of marketing or communications experience, ideally in a professional services or legal environment
  • Strong writing skills — you can draft a polished press release and a punchy social caption with equal confidence
  • Working proficiency in graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar)
  • Experience with website CMS platforms; basic HTML a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
  • Comfort with budget tracking and basic reporting/analytics (monthly reconciliation and annual metrics reporting)
  • Comfort working within approval processes and with multiple internal stakeholders
  • A collaborative, low-ego approach — you take the work seriously, not yourself
  • Reliable personal transportation for monthly inter-office travel
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services setting is a strong plus, but not required

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • A collegial, stable work environment with a growing firm
  • The opportunity to be the architect of a growing firm’s marketing presence
