GENERAL FUNCTIONS
The Marketing & Communications Specialist, under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications, supports a comprehensive, integrated marketing and communications program that fosters outstanding relationships between the College and residents of the regional community, as well as members of other College constituencies.
The Specialist also successfully maintains an active project portfolio supporting faculty, staff, and department colleagues.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with faculty and staff members about marketing needs.
Develops written copy and graphics for numerous publications as directed by Assistant Director.
Serves as a resource to faculty and staff on branding and identity issues.
Plan and design multiple concept sketches for projects and campaigns.
Develop and edit written, photo, and video content for departmental and campus-wide needs.
Supports the brand monitoring of the College's website.
Assists in the management of the photo and video library.
Provides photo and video event coverage as needed among department team.
Supports and maintains communication with external contract resources such as printers and advertising partners.
Represents the Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications at events and meetings as directed.
Performs other related duties as requested.
Education
Minimum of an Associate's degree required. Bachelor's preferred.
Experience
Experience (minimum of 3 years' with an Associate's degree) in marketing and communications fields such as: media press release development, general writing, publications, video and photo editing, presentation deck building, etc.).
Proficiency in marketing and communications software programs such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to work effectively in a process-oriented, collaborative environment. Ability to work on projects for internal and external audiences. RELATIONSHIPS
Position reports to Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications Position collaborates closely with other staff members engaged in marketing and communication activities.
SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a full time, year-round position at 35 hours per week and is compensated at a rate of $43,868.98/annual. Position requires some evening and weekend duties. Salary, benefits and conditions of employment are as set by the GEA contract.
