Description Summary

The Marketing Coordinator supports the College’s student recruitment goals by working with the Director of Marketing and Communications and Admissions Department to develop and implement marketing strategies that promote Iowa Central to prospective students. The Marketing Coordinator creates consistent and compelling messages that represent the story of Iowa Central across digital, print, and event-based platforms. Collaborate for the coordination and engagement of Iowa Central’s social media community in support of positive brand awareness, strategic marketing goals, and educational mission and vision.

Examples of Duties

Constant(67-100%)


  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and coordinate targeted marketing campaigns (print, email, digital, social) to engage prospective student audiences based on College goals.
  • Assist with the development of content and promotional materials for Iowa Central digital campaigns, social media accounts, focusing on recruitment events, academic programs, and student services.
  • Collaborate with CRM Specialist in creation of communication campaigns for recruitment of prospective students.
  • Monitor and provide updated webpage content to College Web Specialist.
  • Represent Marketing in Admissions Interdepartmental meetings.
  • Collaborate with campus departments to support communications with brand-aligned content and optimized promotional opportunities.
Frequent(34-66%)
  • Attend and participate in campus activities and events to provide live social media content and capture other storytelling opportunities.
  • Provide input on recruitment trends and content strategy based on data and analytics, industry trends, engagement metrics, and College priorities.
  • Serve as a visible and approachable representative of the marketing team on campus, encouraging organic participation from students and faculty/staff in content-sharing initiatives.
Occasional(10-33%)
  • During peak times of student recruitment, serve as Campus Visit Representative, taking scheduled and walk-in prospective student campus visits.
  • Participate in major recruitment events (Triton Visit Days, Middle School Visit Days, New Student Move-In, Commencement, etc.)

  • Be able and willing to represent the College in the most positive manner with prospective, former, and current students and their families, community partners, media, and guests of the college.
  • Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and energetic individual with the ability to meet and deal effectively and courteously with student and college personnel.
  • Possess creativity and a data-informed mindset to evaluate marketing effectiveness and drive engagement.
  • Possess planning skills and ability in organizing and implementing detailed plans.
  • Must be a creative individual with proven leadership, public relations, planning and strong interpersonal communications and team building skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, creative, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain brand guidelines.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, management, functionality, and best practices/procedures.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations with 2 years of experience in related field or equivalent training and experience to demonstrate ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Bachelor’s preferred. Experience in nonprofit or educational marketing environment, marketing, communications, or student recruitment preferred. Strong written communication skills and comfort with content creation for digital and social platforms. Proficiency with common design and marketing tools.
